She called me today...well..she called Eric and then demanded to talk to me. And she cried and apologized and on and on. We'll just say I heard violin music playing as she went on and on. She's kissing my rear end BIG TIME. Even came over and cleaned up the leaves in my front yard. I've promised Eric I'd be as civil as I'm forced to be. The van is STILL in my driveway. ha ha!

Exactly Carol. Exactly.
She called yesterday right after I left to go the kids parent/teacher conferences and told Eric she'd been thinking about it (we hadn't had the van for 12 hours) and she wants the van back. He has to keep the peace with her so he told her to come get it. But as of right now it's still sitting in my driveway.
She wanted to know when my family christmas party is so she can go get the boys their black pants and burgundy shirts and Kristiann's christmas dress. Oh, and when i'm done being a beast (she didn't actualy say beast, it was the other B word lol), I'm allowed to go with her.
I don't want to go with her. I had to have another talk with Eric lastnight about the fact that I'm done. I don't have to talk to her, I don't have to look at her, and she doesn't have to talk to me either. If I absolutely have to I will be civil in her presence but that's as good as it gets. She has no reason to come over here for anything I don't need her. She can play the victim all she wants, we both know better.
She doesn't take into consideration what happens to Eric when she pulls this crap.
When he took her home yesterday after she brought the van back he was gone for like 4 hours. I finally called and jokingly asked if she was holding him hostage at gunpoint. She was talking to him about Christmas presents and who still needs a few gifts to even it out. That's fine, whatever. He hangs up and she says "What? Now you're not allowed to hang out with your mother anymore?" That had nothing to do with it. Nothing at all. I was just calling to check on him. Oh and, she's not buying me anything for Christmas. Boo Hoo. I think she may have forgotten that the 32" 1080p HD flatscreen widescreen monitor she's buying....IS FOR ME HA HA.
I've slept really well since I decided I'm done, I shrugged out from under the burden of her and her BS and that's it. I still think it's funny that she says when she walks away she walks away for good. I know how that works. She walked away from her oldest son and everything to do with him for good. The night all this started she had to call and ask Eric to bring her the spare van key because she had locked her keys in the van. She was at her oldest son's house babysitting my neice. Because Her son called and she jumped. She doesn't know what walk away for good means! But that's OK, i can show her what that means.
I think she's just pissy because Eric doesn't want a traditional dinner for thanksgiving. He wants steaks and potato salad. Judy said "well GENE wants turkey" and i said he better stay home and you cook it then because ERIC wants steaks and potato salad! LOL I've been telling her since last year I'm not doing that again. I refuse to do ALL the work and then have to turn around and do ALL the cleanup afterward. It's nothing but a fight anyway because I'm tired by the time they all show up to eat and run. And we're having steaks and homemade potato salad. And she's not invited! LOL

Yesterday, when I found the local metaphysical store closed, I went up to my mom's, because I knew she would know of somewhere else I could go to get the smudge stick I needed to get rid of whatever is in the basement. While we were there, my mom mentioned that she would like to go back to work full time after my sister finishes school and starts working (keep in mind this is possibly up to another YEAR from now). In this case, I will be asked to watch my nephew during the day. I mention this to the mother in law, only that it was mentioned. I hadn't agreed to anything, we haven't even discussed it in depth. All that was said was that Lucien needs to get over his "uncle eric is going to eat me" crying every time he sees him because he MIGHT have to spend a lot of time with Uncle Eric in the future. The mother in law says that I'm inconsiderate and selfish and I'm not considering Eric's health. I have enough trouble keeping up with my filthy house with the four kids I have and dealing with Eric's disability day to day why would I want to add another screaming brat to the mix. My response: Kids are like animals, once you get to a certain point one more doesn't make a difference. My house ISN'T filthy, considering I deal with Eric's disability day to day plus four kids, plus two birds, a dog, two cats, and a ferret my house is VERY clean. I spend my entire day cleaning with kids or one animal or another under my feet, one more definately isn't going to make a difference. What if I have to run to the hospital with Eric? Why would I want to drag another kid along with me? My response: Guess I better have a carseat and make a phone call on my way out the door telling them where my nephew will be so they can pick him up, huh? She continues. I'm stupid if I do it. I have to beg and bribe my family to do anything for me so I shouldn't do anything to help them. My sister needs to grow up and be an adult and find her own _______ babysitter. I'm not superwoman, I can't do it all, I'll lose my sanity with another screaming brat in the house. I'm really stupid if I even consider taking on someone else's kid. Over and over and over and over again about how stupid I am. Finally, she says to me "I always thought you were dumber than the stump in my yard, now you're proving it." I took the phone away from my ear, said "Y'know what?" and hung up. Now, she's not speaking to me. I don't know what I've lost because she'll never help me with anything ever again. When she walks away she walks away for good. She's dropping the KIA van off (that she borrowed for a week 2 months ago) because it's mine and she wants nothing to do with me. If Eric or my kids need anything they just have to call. I'm not allowed to borrow her lawn vacuum in order to clean up my front yard, but I can have my rake back. I've been putting up with her trashing my family, and calling me names for fifteen years now and I'm done. I had to play nice and let it roll because we need her financially. Guess what, I don't need her. Yeah it makes the pursestrings tight around here, but I don't need her. She tried to tell Eric that she was just being a smart alek and I do that to her all the time and say things that are quite rude, if I can dish it out I should be able to take it. Well, I've known this woman a loooooong time now. I KNOW when she's just joking around with me. This was no where near her innocent excuses. When she asked Eric why I hung up on her he said "Well mom, I guess she's tired of you calling her stupid." That woman thinks she can be pissy and give me the silent treatment and I'll forigve her....or worse, suck up to her...in order to make it all better she's got another thing coming!! She says she walks away for good, she can watch me walk away.

Kids are terrified to sleep downstairs alone. It's just great.
Last month, we moved Kristiann upstairs, she's sharing a room with Genny right now, in order for my oldest son to have a bedroom...with a door. Since then, Skyler has been afraid to sleep by himself, IF we can get him to do it he's got every available nightlight in the house, in his room. He's so terrified to be in the dark he can't even get out of his bed to turn the light on.
Now for the reason.
It began when we moved in and I was seeing things, and hearing odd noises from downstairs when no one was home. I had to actually walk the house and tell whatever it was to leave my kids alone. Well, since then things have progressed and the kids are seeing things. Skyler has seen shadows and heard noises that he knows aren't us walking around upstairs, and all of them have witnessed flashing lights out in the TV room down there.
Justice on the other hand...Right after school started he was downstairs, having been sent to bed. He was scratched. Not a big scratch, seemed to me that it was just enough to get his attention. At that point I somehow figured out that we have a female downstairs, and she likes Justice...but she's younger, probably 10 at the oldest. He was gone at school all day after being downstairs all summer watching movies, playing games, and whatnot.
Friday night, Justice's friend called him at the last minute and asked him if he could sleep over that night. Not a problem, we let him go. Well, then Skyler had to sleep on the living room floor because as I said he's absolutely terrified to be down there alone. We managed to get through that night.
Skyler and Kristiann stayed at their grandma's house lastnight. Normally Justice is OK with that, he gets the downstairs TV to himself and he can stay up as late as he wants, the usual things a 13 year old enjoys. Until he was down there by himself and watched a shadow walk past him and go into his room. Justice slept upstairs, needless to say. When I asked him how tall the shadow was, he thought about it for a second, and told me it was at LEAST as tall as the ferret cage. Which on it's stand is 72 inches tall, which is 6 feet even.
It's all gotten to the point that my mother in law, the one that insists there is no such thing as ghosts and the like, has INSISTED that she will buy whatever it is I need in order to cleanse the house. So I looked up metaphysical stores in the area and found one relatively close, I'm going to get a smudge stick tomorrow and get to cleansing. I've explained to the kids that I will do this, that it WILL work (you know mind over matter and everything), and everything should be just fine.
On a side note, I talked to the hubby and told him if this continues to go on after I smudge the house I'm calling in our local ghost hunters to investigate and tell me what's going on.
I have a sneaking suspicion that we MIGHT have a vortex downstairs. The shadows and flashing lights have been the ONLY constant. Everything else is something seen only ONCE. They may just be passing through but they're terrifying my kids to the point of not wanting to be downstairs at all. There are a couple areas down there that make me nervous, 1. The storage closet in the bathroom that is also the area under the stairs (I don't like under the stairs and I HATE closets, those two things combined make me jittery!) and 2. The wall just at the bottom of the stairs. I think that wall, or possibly even that CLOSET is where they are coming and going from.
The man that I saw come up the stairs, and I mean saw as in I saw him as clearly as I can see my kids, pets, and hubby, looked confused, like he was lost, but I've not seen him since. Mother in law wants me to also get into archives and find out what's gone on in this house because all I know for sure was that this house was completed in 1961 and it was officer's housing for the base for several years before it became private housing.

It's a big switch to get used to over here after being at MSN so long, I agree! Glad you moved along with the rest of us though!

oh, that's awesome. I didn't think it had been so long since you found those kittens! Wish the vets here charged like that, Eric might let me have another cat if we could get it fixed for under $40 lol. When I had Whisper Fixed they sent me with prefilled syringes of pain med for her and I only used one, so when she didn't need it anymore and everything had healed I just flushed the rest of the meds. Jasmine had a pain patch while at the vet overnight so they didn't send her home with any pain meds at all, I was surprised since we had her declawed like we did Whisper. But both cats were fine within 24 hours. Jasmine had a tiny incision, in fact it was only glued shut, Whisper had 10 stitches in her belly. And Jasmine was allllmost 2 years old by the time we got her done, I'd think with a biger cat it would have been a bigger incision. I think it's good that it's a lot less invasive than it used to be.

LOL, well Carol, lets put you in a box and then in a car and then we'll leave you with strangers who proceed to shave you and slice you open then take away your body parts and sew you closed again and send you on your way with a med for pain that probably doesn't taste great.....and see if you're a happy camper LOL. How old are these kittens? Couldn't get Whisper or Jasmine spayed till they were five+ months old...doesn't seem like its been that long since you found these ones. side note: the animation of the background is bogging me down for some reason...

omg, Yukkabelle, I didn't know you were a member here LOL. I'm kidsgrrrl over on DeviantArt Love the calendar, now I just need $20 to buy it. I'll see what I can do about that.

Whisper's hair loss is getting worse, she's got a bald belly, a spreading bald patch on her right side, and down both hind legs, and wrapping around her tail. It's getting pretty bad now. I'm 99% sure she's just stress grooming. She's an old girl y'know, and the dog is in her face all the time..
I explained everything and they want to examine her, of course. There are 2 things it could be, since she has no skin irritation at all. Stress grooming or a form of nuerosis. Both are treatable...
If she is stress grooming...she goes on "kitty prozac". That's exactly what they called it. Can't believe I'm going to have to put my cat on prozac to get her to stop.
All I wanted was something to get her to knock it off, something to put on her that doesn't taste good so she'll quit it before she's totally bald.....nope, it's prozac for her!
She'll be going to the vet soon.
Posted on 10/18/2009 19:43 PM
are you having them fixed?
Posted on 10/15/2009 11:02 AM
Umm.. OK so she was 29 days old when this happened...and Dad was asleep 10 feet away....Not waking up to the hysterically screaming baby being attacked? Digger attacked a baby DOLL, went right for the face in fact, he was all about the nose. Digger wasn't allowed anywhere near Genny until she was old enough and big enough to get away. After witnessing what Digger did to the doll (it had to be thrown away he'd done so much damage to its face), I can see it as entirely possible that a ferret in fact did attack this girl as an infant. BUT....How in the heck could it have done THIS much damage before anyone realized that something was going on?? Babies have extremely soft skin, and the nose is very little more than a lump of skin but really...it's the PARENTS fault for not watching the ferret with the baby.

well... it looks like the poop issue has passed once and for all. Spirit has his hammies and beds and blankets and there's no poop outside the box and we're almost to litter changing day again. It's amazing LOL. All my animals have me well trained, Spirit has to have his things back immediately, my cats HAVE to have their litter changed every 5 days no ifs ands or buts about it if it's not done they'll find somewhere that one of us will surely step in it and give us the "cat look" when we yell..you know the "cat look"...that look a cat gives you when you tell it to "sit". Yeah, that's the look LOL. Even the dog likes to have things a certain way and its her way or the highway sometimes lol. Anyone else sometimes have to leave the TV on when you leave the house to keep the dog entertained? Ashes will lay on the couch for hours and watch TV lol.
Posted on 10/14/2009 16:16 PM
I feel better now that they're inside where they're supposed to be. Took a few hours for my stomach to stop hurting. However, I'm tired like you wouldn't believe LOL!! I usually get a nap after the kids leave, there was no napping today...and I screwed up Genny's schedule too because I was watching TV and she couldn't watch Spongebob this morning. Missing animals just throws everyone's schedule out of whack! Got some work done on my website that I've been dutifully ignoring since I switched domains though! http://mistresskyra.cwahi.net
Every year I do my best to make sure the cats and dog are out of sight and in the house, and the dog goes out to potty at night and that's it she's not allowed to stay out after dark for more than a few minutes. You never know who's lurking around to do sick things with people's pets. I've lost more than one cat to Halloween petnappers/pranksters that's probably why I'm so nutty about it now.
Posted on 10/14/2009 13:29 PM
So, lastnight it was cold and rainy and windy. We let the dog out back to potty for the last time for the night and went out front to smoke. Apparently the back door didn't quite latch and either the wind blew it open, or the suction from opening and closing the front door pulled the back door open. At any rate, it didn't occur to me until this morning that Whisper wasn't in bed with me, where she's supposed to be because she spends every night with me. I got up to get the kids up and started to get upset. I got the flashlight out and looked under beds and behind the furnace and as far into the space that leads to a section under the floor that they like so much...no cats.
By now I'm really beginning to panic, can't catch my breath.... Eric takes Justice to school and comes back and I'm out on the front porch wracking my brain wondering where the heck they would go.... Well, I grabbed the flashlight again and went out to the garage and started calling, FINALLY Whisper answered. I had to chase her around because...for a cat that escaped the house so often (when we lived with the mother in law) she REALLY doesn't like to be outside!
I FINALLY catch her and make sure it's her and not the other black cat that hangs out around here (the only difference is Whisper's bald belly other than that they're identical and i've brought the other cat in my house twice now LOL), and I get her into the house. Well, I still can't find Jasmine. So back out to the garage I go.
She was easy to find and more than ready to get back into the house. I found her hiding under a recliner out there and as soon as I lifted that chair she was in my arms (unusual for Jasmine because she doesn't allow anyone but Justice to pick her up!)
Both cats are now in the house and I'm guessing that going outside was Jasmine's idea because Whisper won't let her groom her or even get NEAR her right now LOL.
Eric just shakes his head at me for getting so panicked that my stomach hurts and I literally cannot function if I can't find my cats!!
Other than the ONE TIME last month that Jasmine snuck out the back door because it wasn't latched all the way, my cats haven't gotten outside since we moved out of the mother in law's house. October is NOT a good month to have black cats I tell you what. I kept thinking of the nasty things that could have happened to my girls outside overnight and the evil kids in the neighborhood.

hee hee....they've all got me well trained. Amazing since Spirit got his hammies back he's not pooped anywhere but his litter box! told ya that was the problem!
Posted on 10/09/2009 16:21 PM
Well, the first time he went all over it was diarhea because of the raisins. Now it's normal and just not in the litter box and making me absolutely nutty LOL. I've tried all the tricks and he'll just poop on the things i put there so i'm at my wits end.
I took the cage apart and set it up differently...after discovering stray poops on a shelf yesterday! So Right now he's got 2 solid levels toward the top of the cage and then my last 3 shelves are staggered to the bottom where the litterboxes are. I tried having the smaller litter box around the middle of the cage and he just slept in it instead of using it the way he's supposed to!
It would seem that now that he has more choices as to how he gets to the bottom of the cage he's OK...
I think I was being punished for not getting his hammies back to him IMMEDIATELY after i washed them after the great diarhea incident. He has all his hammies and blankies and stuffed friends now so he seems pretty content. At least there's no new poops outside the litter box today LOL.
Posted on 10/08/2009 18:15 PM
Usually cleaning Spirit's cage isn't so bad... change his litter, wipe the whole thing down, it's all good. TWICE THIS MONTH (and the month just started) I've had to take the whole thing outside and hose it down before I could even take it apart to scrub the poop off the levels!! As if worry about the cats losing hair isn't bad enough LOL. Yesterday was the second time I had to do this. The first time I excused Spirit...Because Genny had decided it was treat day while I was taking a bath and her dad wasn't looking and she fed Spirit probably 50 yogurt covered raisins. So...OK, it snuck up on him he didn't have time to make it to the litter box...fine... But this morning....he'd pooped on the level just up from his litter box!!! This is making me crazy lol. It's been sooooooo long since I've had to deal with the poop outside the litter box (more than once or twice really) that i want to pull my own hair out. I'm wondering if Spirit's age is catching up to him, he's just over 6 years old now...which is 2 years younger than Mickey was when he passed. Who knows.. All I know is I'm up to my eyeballs in poop...or that's the way it seems lol!

So, Whisper has started losing some fur in a really weird pattern on her side and it kinda wraps up around her tail. I've been scouring the web for reasons that cats lose hair and barring taking her to the vet, which I haven't done yet... I think I've got this figured out!!
Ashes...the dog....has decided it is absolutely hilarious to get up in the cats faces (Jasmine is showing a couple of small bald spots as well) and back them into a corner while they're yelling and swatting at her before they give up and run into the bedroom to get away from her! This is a totally new thing with the dog. After going through hundreds of pages and looking at the other things that commonly go WITH hair loss in cats, like fungi and other skin diseases or diseases of the hair follicles themselves....my cats have ONLY hair loss. No crusty or scaly spots, NOTHING. I had actually suspected ringworm....because SOMEHOW Eric managed to get either ringworm...or a fungal skin infection (the doctor isn't sure which) a couple of weeks ago, but he's treated it and it's gone now. Even that has crusty skin and lots of itching to go along with it.
Whisper has overgroomed herself since we moved from Washington and had to stay with the mother in law. I don't think her belly will EVER have fur on it again because it's been 2 years and she's still overgrooming her belly. I'll get the girls to the vet to make sure I'm right...but I'm possitive that the dog is pushing her annoyance to the point that they just can't stand it and their hair is falling out. It's much like dealing with children for extended periods of time I think ROFL!!! Kids stress me out and my hair falls out so it fits I guess LOL.
Eric has just been told that his dog needs to knock her crap off and leave my cats alone. Guess I'll have to kennel Ashes when we go to bed that will at least give the cats a short break but hopefully it'll be enough to lower their stress levels a bit.
The only other option isn't possible, because both my girls are spayed so it's not the heat cycle that's causing the hair loss, of that i'm absolutely possitive.

Judy I'm so glad you're back and feeling a little better. The first 3 days without a cigarette are the worst so you're well over the hump now you'll make it. This place wouldn't be the same without you!!
Tell Tigger you'll have all his teeth pulled if he puts holes in your oxygen tube again LOL!!
Wonder if we can get Reese's to send you a bag of unwrapped peanutbutter cups?? LOL, get better Judy, this place won't be the same until you bring back the attitude
